question 1: why should we vigorously develop the wood and bamboo industry

wood and bamboo industry is the leading industry of China's forestry industry, and it is also an indispensable livelihood industry to improve people's quality of life. It plays a very important basic role in national economic and social development

Ye Kelin said that accelerating the green development of the wood and bamboo industry is of great significance to ensuring national wood security, promoting supply side structural reform, consolidating the results of poverty eradication, practicing the development concept of "green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains", and meeting the people's needs for a better life

since the new century, China's wood and bamboo industry has maintained a strong momentum of development, and has become the world's largest country in the production, consumption and trade of wood and bamboo products. The output of wood-based panels, furniture, flooring, wooden doors, bamboo and other major forest products has steadily ranked first in the world. In 2019, the total output value of the national forestry industry reached 7.56 trillion. Among them, the total output value of wood and bamboo industry exceeds 3trillion, which has become an important pillar of China's modern forestry industry

wood and bamboo products usually include logs (bamboo), sawn timber, wood-based panels, wood furniture, wood doors and windows, wood floors, cabinets and wardrobes, which are mainly used in interior decoration, construction, vehicle and vessel manufacturing, packaging and other industries. A modern wood and bamboo industry system with a considerable scale and relatively perfect global lithium resource increment in 2017 has been formed, mainly from two major mines in Australia

after nearly three decades of sustained and rapid development, the concentration of China's wood and bamboo industry has gradually increased, forming a relatively perfect industrial chain. When talking about ensuring national wood safety, ye Kelin said that the wood resources in developed countries in the world mainly come from natural forests or intensively managed plantations. China should break through the expansion of wood resources and efficient utilization technology

Ye Kelin said that first of all, we should focus on the implementation of major forestry projects such as national fast-growing and high-yield forests, strategic reserve forests and precise improvement of forest quality, carry out research on early prediction of wood properties and evaluation of processing performance of wood materials, and improve the quality and performance of domestic wood from the source

at the same time, we should explore new resources and tap the potential of efficient utilization of existing resources, innovate the efficient processing and utilization of bulk imported wood and domestic plantation wood, as well as the processing and utilization technology of plant fiber resources such as bamboo and rattan, non useful wood, recycled wood and crop straw, increase the effective supply of resources and strengthen the industrial supply chain

third question: what is the goal of the wood and bamboo industry during the 14th five year plan

by 2025, the output value of wood and bamboo industry will reach 4trillion and the total output value of forestry industry will reach 10trillion, and some fields will rank among the world's leading levels

in terms of application of basic theories, the relationship between wood (bamboo) component structure and performance is basically clarified, providing a theoretical basis for technological innovation such as resource utilization, new material creation, green and safe production and intelligent manufacturing; In terms of resource development and utilization, more than 20million cubic meters of wood resources are developed every year, and the utilization efficiency of wood and bamboo resources is increased by 20%; In terms of improving quality and efficiency, we have created major products such as fine particle board and new wood-based recombined materials, which are suitable for flexible manufacturing of wood-based panels and lead the transformation of the wood-based panel industry, and the value-added of wood bamboo functional materials and other products is more than 20%; In terms of green and safe production, it is expected to save energy and reduce consumption by 10%, reduce pollution emissions by 15%, and reduce the risk of safe production by 10%, forming a new green and safe production technology system for the wood and bamboo industry

in terms of intelligent manufacturing, the customization rate of household products has increased by 20%, the production efficiency has increased by 30%, and the intelligent manufacturing of wood and bamboo products has become a global model; In terms of innovation ability, we will build a national technical supporting testing center: hydrostatic strength experiment and melt activity rate technology innovation center, realize the open sharing of large-scale scientific research facilities and instruments in university scientific research institutions, and achieve remarkable results in cross industry and interdisciplinary integration and innovation

four questions: what are the shortcomings of the wood and bamboo industry

with the development of a new generation of information technology, technologies such as big data, IOT, artificial intelligence, robotics, green manufacturing are promoting the transformation and upgrading of the wood and bamboo industry to green production and intelligent manufacturing

however, at present, China's wood and bamboo products are not competitive in the medium and high-end markets at home and abroad, and product performance and application services are still difficult to meet the needs of national economy, social development and consumer upgrading

According to Ye Kelin, the main problems are: first, there is a shortage of wood resources and the supply chain is unstable. The results of the Ninth National Forest Resources Inventory show that domestic commercial timber mainly comes from plantations. The average DBH of plantations is only 12 cm, the proportion of middle-aged and young forests is as high as 70.4%, and there are more small-diameter timber and less large-diameter timber; More low-quality wood, less high-quality wood; More coniferous wood, less broad-leaved wood; Generally, there are many tree species with less precious wood, and less large-diameter wood and precious wood for construction and furniture. The structural contradiction between wood supply and demand is very prominent, which is difficult to meet the huge consumer market demand

second, the performance of materials and products is not high, and the international competitiveness is not strong. China's wood and bamboo enterprises are generally not strong in technological innovation. The wood and bamboo materials and products processed and manufactured are mainly used in indoor and non load-bearing structures, and rarely used in outdoor exposure and building structures and other fields with high weather resistance/strength requirements. China exports nearly 40 billion US dollars of wood and bamboo products every year, mainly supplying building materials supermarkets to meet the medium and low-end demand

third, the level of green and safe manufacturing is not high, and enterprises are under great pressure

fourth, manual, mechanization and automation coexist, and the production efficiency is not high. The wood and bamboo industry has been in the development stage of low entry threshold, small average scale of enterprises and relatively low profit level for a long time

fifth, basic applied research is weak, and the ability to support technological innovation is not strong. Basic research based on wood structure and performance, multi-source big data informatics utilization and other basic research is in its infancy, which is far from intelligent manufacturing and smart home application

sixth, the integration and investment of scientific and technological resources are insufficient, and the industrial technological innovation ability needs to be improved. Independent intellectual property rights in key core technology fields are weak, innovation resources are relatively scattered, scientific research facilities and instruments are mostly concentrated in universities and scientific research institutions, sharing is insufficient, the use efficiency is not high, and cross-border integration lags behind. The industrial technology innovation platform is not strong and talents are insufficient

five questions: how to make up for the lack of innovation ability

Ye Kelin said that China's wood and bamboo industry innovation talents, scientific research instruments and equipment and other resources are mainly concentrated in two national forestry scientific research institutions and 12 agricultural and forestry universities, and scientific research institutions and universities are still the main body of industrial scientific and technological innovation. Enterprises play a role in the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements. Engineering innovation resources are mainly concentrated in more than 50 national high-tech enterprises. The most advanced core technologies in China's wood and bamboo industry, such as continuous hot pressing and numerical control processing, mainly rely on the introduction from abroad. In the organization of industrial technology innovation activities, the "secondary innovation" carried out by scientific research institutions, universities and enterprises has played a positive role, and the "short, smooth and fast" technological innovation carried out by leading enterprises integrating upstream suppliers has been fruitful

at present, cross-border scientific and technological cooperation is becoming a new driving force for technological innovation in the wood and bamboo industry. The main structure of innovation is more pragmatic, which will effectively make up for the lack of technological innovation capacity in the wood and bamboo industry

in addition, it will also be organically integrated into national, departmental and local scientific and technological innovation plans, and strive for the project approval support of relevant key scientific and technological R & D plans of national and other ministries and commissions and local governments. At the same time, establish a multi input innovation resource mechanism, strengthen collaborative innovation, and improve the innovation ability of leading enterprises in the wood and bamboo industry. And carry out international innovation cooperation, strengthen publicity and enhance the impact of technological innovation in the wood and bamboo industry
